What to eat on a GLP-1: building meals that keep you full and fueled
Protein, fiber, and hydration matter more when your appetite drops. Here is how to plan simple meals that work.
GLP-1 medications reduce appetite, so many people eat noticeably less. That makes the quality of each meal more important.
Lead with protein
Protein helps preserve lean muscle while you lose weight. Aim to include a palm-sized portion at every meal, such as eggs, Greek yogurt, fish, chicken, tofu, or legumes.
Add fiber slowly
Vegetables, berries, oats, and beans support digestion and can ease constipation. Increase fiber gradually and drink water alongside it.
Eat smaller and slower
Large or greasy meals are the most common trigger for nausea. Stop eating when you feel satisfied rather than full.
Your care team can help adjust your plan if side effects make eating difficult. Message them any time.
